This is the finale in the 4 book series, "Rakes Who Make Husbands Jealous." Now, it's Channing's turn to find love and he finds it with an old flame. But there is baggage between them, and damage too. This was an interesting book to write, and a little dark.

Bronwyn Scott is a pen-name for Nikki Poppen. She lives in the USA, up in the Pacific Northwest, where she is a communications instructor at a small college. She remembers writing all her life and is still proud of completing her first novel in sixth grade! She loves history and research and is always looking forward to the next story. Bronwyn Scott brings her Rakes Who Make Husbands Jealous series to a mesmerizing close with London’s Most Wanted Rake, a tender, warm-hearted and passionate historical romance about two former flames who find themselves reunited after years apart.
Channing Deverill might be one of society’s most scandalous bachelors who had hardened his heart and turned his back on any form of romantic attachment, however, his laid-back exterior and sophisticated demeanor hide a broken heart that has never been healed. As a young man, he had fallen madly in love with the alluring Miss Alina Marliss. The two of them had embarked upon a passionate relationship that had consumed them both, however, Channing had been left devastated when Alina had rejected him to marry a French comte. Determined never to feel that kind of pain ever again, Channing had returned to London and set up The League of Discreet Gentlemen, whereby men such as himself could indulge in pleasures of the flesh with willing women without emotions or feelings getting in the way. The League is society’s best kept secret with many a bored society wife engaging their services in order to be accompanied to the opera by a handsome man such as Channing on her arm. With his enterprise growing in leaps and bounds, Channing knows that he should be happy. He has more money than he knows what to do with, has given young men with no prospects a chance to earn a living and better themselves and has always a beautiful woman willing to share his bed at night. RT Review at 4 stars, right on the money

Romantic Times Mag. gave this one 4 stars and called it another "Bronwyn Scott Keeper." That was right on the money for me. Loved it. This book really caps off the series in high gear. It's dark and a bit edgy though for those that don't like that sort of thing and the sex is intense and gamey for commercial, mainstream historical romance, so this is not for the faint of heart.
I enjoyed this series as a whole. It was great to see Channing meet his match. My recommendation though, in response to an earlier review posted, is don't make this book your first or second Bronwyn Scott encounter. It's the END of a FOUR book series and I think readers will enjoy this more if they have the entire context in their repertoire and it's pretty edgy and new compared to her usual fare. If you're looking for a good first encounter I'd send you to any of her Rakes Beyond Redemption books (How to Disgrace a Lady, How to Sin Successfully etc.) or her Ladies of Impropriety duet (just two books) Particularly, "A Lady Dares" . Both books in the duet received 4.5 stars and rave reviews from Romantic Times.
